How to create Facebook ads on Facebook Manager for beginners

Are you running a business and feeling frustrated that your advertising efforts aren't delivering the results you desire? Look no further! Supercharge your outreach with the incredible potential of Facebook's paid ads through Facebook Manager. These ads are a dynamic and proven strategy to connect with your ideal customers and elevate your brand's visibility.

In this article, we won't just tell you about the benefits; we're going to guide you step-by-step on how to create your very own Facebook ads using Facebook Manager, complete with helpful screenshots that will make the process an easy one. You'll gain access to our wealth of experience and knowledge accrued over the years, supplemented by insights from various reputable sources, to ensure your ad campaigns are as effective as they can be.

Get ready to take your business to new heights with Facebook ads – the game-changer in the world of digital marketing!

The first step is to create an account with Facebook Ads Manager. This is a tool that allows you to design and run ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. You can access it by clicking on this link or by going to your Facebook page and clicking on the + icon and selecting Ad. You can also download the mobile app for Android or iOS, but I recommend using the desktop version for beginners.

Ads manager

Once you open the Ads Manager, you will see four tabs: Overview, Campaigns, Ad Sets, and Ads. The Overview tab gives you a summary of performance data for your active campaigns. The Campaigns tab shows all the campaigns that you have created. Ad sets are a part of a campaign and you can have multiple ad sets for each campaign. These can be viewed from the Ad Sets tab. Similarly, an ad set can have multiple ads and each individual ad can be viewed from the Ads tab.

So, if you have active campaigns and want to create a new ad or ad set, then you can go to the respective tabs to do that. However, if you are starting from scratch, then you need to create a new campaign first. To do that, click on the Create button on the top left corner of the screen.

The next step is to choose a campaign objective. This is the goal that you want to achieve with your ad campaign, such as increasing brand awareness, generating leads, or driving conversions. Facebook offers 11 different objectives to choose from, each with its own sub-options. You can hover over each objective to see a brief description of what it does. Choose the objective that best aligns with your marketing goal and click on Continue.

Campaign level

You will then be asked to name your campaign and optionally turn on some features such as A/B testing, campaign budget optimization, or special ad category. You can also set a spending limit for your campaign if you want.

Ads set level

After that, you will move on to the ad set level, where you will choose where you want to drive your sales such as your website, app, website and app, massaging apps, and through phone calls. Choose your Facebook page where the ad will run from.

Define your audience, placement, budget, and schedule. The audience is the group of people who will see your ads. You can use the audience network tool to create a custom audience based on criteria such as location, age, gender, interests, behaviors, and more. You can also use a lookalike audience, which is a group of people who are similar to your existing customers or followers.

The placement is where your ads will appear on Facebook and its partner platforms. You can choose automatic placements, which will let Facebook decide the best places to show your ads, or manual placements, which will let you select the specific platforms and formats that you want to use.

The budget and schedule are the amount of money that you want to spend on your ad set and the duration of your campaign. You can choose a daily budget, which is the average amount that you want to spend per day, or a lifetime budget, which is the total amount that you want to spend for the entire campaign. You can also set a start and end date for your campaign or run it continuously until you stop it.

Ads

The last step is to create your ad. This is where you will choose the format, media, and text for your ad. The format is the way that your ad will look on different platforms and devices. You can choose from several options such as image, video, carousel, collection, or instant experience. The media is the visual element of your ad, such as a photo, video, or slideshow. You can upload your own media or use the free stock images and videos provided by Facebook.

The text is the written content of your ad, such as the headline, description, and call to action. You can use the text boxes to enter your text and see how it will appear on different placements. You can also use the preview tool to see how your ad will look on different devices and platforms.

Call to action

Once you are happy with your ad, click on Confirm to submit it for review. Facebook will check your ad for compliance with its policies and guidelines and approve or reject it within 24 hours. You can track the status of your ad from the Ads tab in the Ads Manager.

That’s it! You have successfully created a Facebook ad using the Facebook Ads Manager. You can now monitor and optimize your ad campaign using the data and insights provided by the tool. You can also create more ad sets and ads to test different audiences, placements, and creatives.
